wah...xanga 都加入facebook熱潮...剛剛想開始打字時才發覺上面出現一句"Now you can easily publish updates on your Facebook profile"。立時走去改setting，不想寫了很多篇才知道原來全世界都看到了你的一字一句。總覺得會好尷尬。


今日友人說：＂你有冇好感激我帶hik你讀finance？＂
＂ 但係而家一潭死水喎，如果讀其他科可能而家唔洗煩。＂
＂如果你當初冇同我一齊揀Commerce，你覺得你而家0係邊？＂
＂我應該end up去讀pharmacy或者psychology。唔係喎，0個陣入Pharm要先考個exam0架，我記得我完全冇收到result喎，咁應該讀唔到Pharm lu...應該係去左psychology...我諗會好慘...如果比你再揀你會揀乜？＂

＂我反而想揀Commerce / Art，Art讀Jap...＂


我覺得jap比較practical一點，因為日常生活中我覺得會每日都接觸到日文。但同樣道理，你亦可以說Finance都很常接觸。如果當初我選了Pharmacy，我可能一輩子都在Pharmcy裡吧。又，如果我入了Psychology，我可能一早看Article看到累死了。

where is your sense of responsibility????? can't believe when i tried calling group members about the assignment and 2 of the members had actually switched off their phone, and it was just a moment ago i found out 1 of them had dropped the course while the other still nowhere to be seen. i really would like to wish you good luck if you continue to work with this attitude out at the market. Geez, she seems to be reliable at the time when we form a group, and similar thing had happened last semester... Gosh why did i always pick out the irresponsible ppl??

btw, i had been (unknowingly) paying more attention to 陳柏宇 recently, i think reason being is that he reminds me of 三浦春馬. yes, coz i'm so into him after the tv series "bloody monday". =P and yes i could love to learn from the show how you can use the electricity powerpoint to surf online. or maybe hack into the system to put a few more zeros on my bank balance without getting caught.

Recap

The last exam today is frickin hard, x10E20 harder than undergrads' "options, futures, forwards and derivatives"... why are you testing us on Brownian motion and ito lemma?? and who will know y=S^3 follows what theory? if the brightest of the class finds the exam hard, then i think most of the class would have failed... history repeated once again, ABS. if the easy mid sem got half of the class failed, don't you think those ppl will definitely fail the one too?

anyway other than that, i think hard work pays off. Thanks to the 2 state space matrix and empirical stats, you had successfully made me puke in few occasions because i was thinking too hard.

things are picking up at work, and end up i was asked to instruct a junior today. ahahah, weird feeling coz i was giving the exact lecture my supervisor gave me before.

I'm done with mid-sems~~~ did my last paper tonite. Nervousness is in the air when i walked into the lecture room, ppl's faces are seriously blanked and helpless, which i found comforting since i know I'm not the only one who is dreading it. Anyway, 1.5 hr for 2 essays, I thought I might not be able to write that much, but instead I need more time to elaborate my points further. At the end I wrote 6 pages in 1.5 hr, I could do better than that... if I didnt spend so much time figuring out the writer's name and year for those research paper.

最近比較多留意<家好>的劇情，可能是近來少了吵吵鬧鬧戲，所以能平心靜氣去看。但我總覺得並非去要用超班來形容，只覺得部分劇情比較好看而已。如要講到佢地一家人如何搞爛gag，下雨如何模仿，淋風如何喪追中加因，對不起，not my cup of tea。

乜唔係要捧淋風做視帝咩？為何淋風演技可以咁作狀？是想讓下雨做今年視帝嗎？

Another surprising result came in today. 6214's agree and disagree Q which i had mentioned before, midsem results are released. Frankly, since i missed out on the 1st lecture and its 'gift', I'm hopeless on almost half of the Q for the paper, I'll be more than happy to get a high pass. But then it turn out I got a Cr and got scaled up to HD, which ranked me 23 in class... which means 40% of the class got HD or above while 10% got 90s, then I realised how competitive it is for MFIN.

Did the 3rd in today, which was alright. I guess if you dun expect to get sth out of it, there will be less pressure. This time it's more like a get-to-know-you kinda thing, to let the staff have a chance to see who you are. As usual, and expected, there are some more interview questions to be answered. But this time it was a bit challenging as the questions are vague and ambiguous. Luckily the manager who interviewed me was nice enough to give out sample answer for me to follow.

Did 6201 mid-sem at night as well. After 5 weeks of lectures and reading, I doubted I learnt anything from it. We were given a problem and asked to write up a sequencing code in excel to solve the problem. It feels like asking someone to navigate while he/she can't read maps. We struggled for 3 hours and there were less than 30 lines of code, my brain havn't worked out this hard for a long time. other ppl jus gave up, then email the problem to their IT friends and got emailed back with an answer, but then it couldn't be used since it is IT instead of finance oriented.

Got 5535's 1st half result back, got a DN for it... unexpected...

搏鬥多日，還有一份paper未讀完。這次相信是我到目前為止看過最多字的幾天，雜碎得不能再碎。難度最高的，是如何把6份paper的重點，由三言兩語expand成一編該用1個小時去寫的essay呢？看來要使出吃奶之力，把大學5年來關於governance的知識都統統道來，如有必要accounting也要用到。畢竟50%的mid-sem，恐怖。

星期四便可以攤0抖下。

今日的midsem很另類，全份paper問你53條Agree or Disagree。每次考試，如有熟讀課本必定中。但，這科上堂cover的跟書裡的並不一樣。成份paper都是似是而非的問題。

例：眼前所見的這個紅蘋果是水果，Agree or Disagree？當一切common sense都對你說要選Agree的時候，誰知答案會是：

Disagree, 因為它可能是個膠製的假水果。-___-" 大佬，咁你講乜都得架啦。

For those who is interested:
"Firm A is more beautiful than Firm B, A is preferred to B, agree or disagree?"
Disagree, beautiful feature, like earnings and dividend growth, are irrelevant. Only its real price and current price is significant to identify under/overpriced firm.

"Risk adverse investors will not engage in risky gamble, agree or disagree"
Disagree, highly perceived risk can be compensated by higher returns. There is always a price for everyone.

"A bought X @ $15k, B bought X @$15, X's price is now $150. A should keep X while B sell X."
Disagree, past transactions are sunk cost and should not affect investment decisions.

But then I shouldn't complain, since the answers are revealed in class.

Interview on wed， 但始終不是我最想要的。之前想apply你說時間不合，再apply又等到我改變主意才覆。不過呢，還是看看2nd in怎麼說吧。

最近有堂analysis科，主要是學怎樣用VBA去analyze return。感覺上像在學computer language，說不上很難，但讓我想起yr8時computer study的那些programme language。還以為有advantage，畢竟也8年前的事了，學到的都已忘光。

從來覺得做得teaching staff的都是好好好好好patient的那類人。但，這個sem遇上廢人之最－阿boon禪。ok，你廢也都算了。但有些比較plan-ahead的學生只不過想問清楚admin上的事便被吋爆的佢一一駁回，仲要笑著吋你，真想大把大把惺佢。又，ok，你嗓子比較柔弱，用mic固然是理所當然的事。但問題是，你開mic但又不去對準把口，你想點呢？我坐得比較後，只能聽到20%。討厭。

告一段落

前陣子因讀書上的事搞到心煩，曾懷疑究竟這條路走得正確嗎，我不求光明大道，但怕走到最後卻後悔。終於腦內一直轉牛角尖，容不下其他人的見解，心情很糟。又，再跟這行的老前輩了解一下，才發現原來我多心了。明白到香港跟這邊不一樣，這些永遠越多越好，甚至要multidoctral。多謝Daddy找來 Fin跟Acct的前輩，剎時目標又再明確。

新開始

What's becoming of me? Recently at few occasions, when friends and i talked about so-and-so which happened few years back, I've got problems recalling the details. This is surprising because it seems so very important at the time, I guess it is the magic of selective memory.

New semester started officially this week, that leaves another 12 months to go. My grad details are yet to be confirmed, I wonder what the staff had been doing all the time. I've tried emails and even call them, but everytime questions still not been answered, as they claim the person in charge is not in office. Appalling services.



又話說，Sydney這週寒流突襲。上個週末突然下起hail，而在我舊居Killara那邊竟遍地都是hail，遠看上去彷彿身在雪地。亦由於天氣很冷，最近又養成每日２杯咖啡的習慣。很明顯氣色變得沒那麼好。不過並沒有持續太久，因又迷上了Earl Grey紅茶，但卻被阿妹取笑是老人茶－這邊的老人每到cafe都愛點English breakfast或是Earl Grey。

說起咖啡，很討厭某些人覺得愛喝咖啡＝扮foreigner。這是甚麼道理？難道愛吃pizza＝扮義大利人？

話說等了幾個禮拜的result，原是明早9點才發email通知。誰知我一早6點醒來便發現email已到，急不及待馬上一click，全部安全通過。總於畢業了=] 遺憾的是Japn始終差點兒HD。

一到試場看到一隻二隻喪屍，面無血色頭髮散亂﹒聽到朋友一個禮拜溫2科，2科今日考﹒佩服她一個禮拜沒覺好訓還溫到書﹒我只需顧一科而已，但已經把material塞到頭快要裂開﹒

終於搞定一科，原來沒想像中難喎，雖然並非超易送分題﹒不知道是否因為failing rate太高，最近幾科acct都有放水之嫌﹒今日也不例外﹒竟然有一題問: Which of the following is not a derivative financial instruments?
A. Swap B. Future C. Options D. Forward contract E. Shares

不過呢，由於mid-sem成績不理想，故但求pass就可以了﹒唔好阻住我畢業﹒

明日開始溫audit，比較qualitative，容易入腦﹒
明日亦是Int business finance final之日，發現黑鬼已被換掉，換來的竟然是Kingsley Fong...-___-"很難想像一個像Kingsley咁廢0既lecturer會整左個R爆頭0既assignment...

勉強1

Not a productive day, been reading textbook for a couple of hours today and I could only manage to finish 1 chapter… I should be ashamed, coz I've been spending one hour on an accounting entry which at the end I realised I've misread the question in the first place…

Just got my accounting individual assignment result back last night, I was dreading it since I havnt been spending much time and effort on it. But then turn out I got Cr. I guess that would help ease off the appalling mid-sem marks a bit.

saw a lump of moving gold today, golden trench coat, golden oversized bag and golden heels... hmm...

recently spend most of the time in library to finish off ever-ending assignments, i think it's gonna last for a while, until finals are over and done with... few more weeks to finish this undergrad, and starting Master. Feeling kinda weird.

The business faculty reward ceremony is on tonight, was invited to experience this "once for a lifetime event =("...anyhow, ceremonies are boring, this one makes no exception. To keep myself occupied, was moliu enough to count how many more rewards to go. Refreshment are served after the ceremony, but then these ppl who in formal dresses, are actually ganging up on the poor serving person. Some even chase after the serving person demanding food... *o*

Jap interaction ran smoothly, despite few minor grammar problems. We were told that we aced it, but then I expect most of the ppl would get equally high marks.

Sadly, study acct for the nite, ethics in particular. Wonder why there is a lecture dedicated to this topic, as the content is philosophical-sounding and inexplicable. Several hundreds of pages of ridiculousness, didn't even attempt to read thru it. Wasted one day on theoretical part, and that leave me 1 more day to go over 5 lectures. Someone suggested that I should publish a book namely "Study for exams in 2 days For Dummies". XD
